Soothing Neutrals

Aren't these rooms fabulous! Wouldn't you love to have a large dining room like that, that could fit like 15 people easily for a dinner party!? Wow! To have all that space in a bedroom too! My rooms are small since we live in an old farmhouse style home. I can't imagine having a couch, bed, chair , ottoman and fireplace in my bedroom! Wouldn't that be great! I have a little upholstered chair shoved in the corner of my bedroom- and I am thankful I can fit that! :) I also love the brown and white color scheme of the bedroom. It is so soothing, and I am sure a restful place to end a day!

I love Grey

I love this dining room from Canadian House and Home. It is lovely! I love the dark grey walls and how they contrast with the white bench, table and floors. I also love combining the texture of the wicker/rattan chairs. I could totally picture this room in my house!

Sunday Lovelies

Aren't these two rooms just great! I love the simple white floors in the first room, as well as that gorgeous, aquaish, tealish wall color! So great! And that chandelier and those simple linen curtains! I also love the mini fireplace an old iron bed frame! I could go on and on! The bathroom is also perfect! I love those big white sinks- I am looking for one for our downstairs bathroom, which just has a simple white pedestal sink that we put in when we moved here a couple years ago. My husband would not let buy one since out sink is "perfectly functional, and basically brand new". But if I found one, and it was a great deal, I am sure I could sway him! My eyes are peeled! I also love the contrast of the dark floors and neutral color scheme.

Speaking of bathrooms, mine is calling my name- I can hear it screeching down the hall, "Clean me, clean me". I have about 3 loads worth of laundry waiting on the bathroom floor to be washed. I am washing the bedding right now and once they are done, on with more! I hate laundry. Not so much the washing part, it is the putting away I hate. I wish I could put the laundry on my bed and a little fairy could come and put it all neatly away. Maybe someday! :)

Hope you all have a nice, relaxing sunday!! Ta-ta!

Easy Halloween Mantels

These Halloween Mantels are so simple and cute! You can go with the traditional orange and black color theme, or the chic all white theme! I LOVE white pumpkins and picked up 10 of the mini ones at the farmers market this morning. I am not sure where they are going yet, but I will post picks when they are in place. But really, how easy is this decor? All you have to do is throw (or gently place) a mirror on the mantel, a couple candelsticks and a few pumpkins scattered about. Or place a fallish wreath above the fireplace and add a bunch of white pumpkins in and some ironstone(my ultimate fav!) How do you decorate your mantel (if you have one) for Halloween? *Note- these ideas can easily be done on a shelf or tabletop too.

Mid-Week Inspiration!

Noticing a theme??? White floors. Ah..I love 'em. I want them in my house. We have hardwood floors downstairs and upstairs in our house and I would LOVE to paint one room white. My husband would probably keel over, considering we just had them refinished 2 years ago! I can picture them in our bedroom. I have browns, LIGHT pinks and creams in there. Wouldn't a painted floor just brighten up the whole place?! A girl can dream.
Aren't the windows amazing in the first picture? I love the sofa and fireplace too! As for the second picture- wouldn't those wall decals (i think they are..maybe they are painted on?) but wouldn't they look great in a childrens play room? I even love them there, but I don't think I have the guts to put them in my dining room! And the last picture.... I just love this one. From the walls, the cieling, the chaise, the stool....I love it all!
Have a great day! I hope you enjoyed the inspiration!

Mirror Reveal

So here is the ugly brown mirror that I re-did! I decided on white and heavily distressed it. I think it turned out great- now I am deciding where it is going to go! I think I have a spot but need hubby's help because I want to hang it and it is HEAVY! I'll show it when it is all hung and in it's place!

Cozy Bedrooms

I just love the giant mirror as a headboard and the sparkly chandelier!
This one has been a favorite of mine for a long time now! I have the page saved from the magazine ! I love the brick against the soft feminine linens! Just perfect!

So soft and inviting! I want to snuggle right in!
The wallpaper! Love it! I also love the grey and pink muted tones! I could def. picture this bedroom in my house!

Since fall is fast approaching and the cooler weather is nearing us, I feel the urge to get my bedroom into comfy mode. Time to add extra blankets and softer textures pefect for snuggling in at night! These pictures are great inspiration for just that! I love all these bedrooms! **All images are courtesy of country living.

Life in The Fun Lane!

Ok...I am bit obsessed about this blog I came across! Obsessed to say the least! I stalk it regularly, checking for new posts and a ton of inspiration. Holly over at Life in the Fun Lane even inspired me to paint my cabinet in the dining room white...and is making me think about painting EVERYTHING in my house white! If you check out her blog you will know what I am talking about. Her pieces are to die for and if I lived closer *wish* I would have a house full of her pieces. Yes- she actually sells her pieces that she refinishes! The two pictures above are some new favs of mine! Isn't that monstrous hutch fabulous!! I want it terribly! So check out her blog at www.inthefunlane.com

HOME

Home is such a great place to be, isn't it?! I love being at home. I am such a homebody. Don't get me wrong, I like going out and about, but there is just something so nice about being at home. I think it is fall and the whole nesting feeling everyone gets when the weather starts gettting cooler. I like being all cozy and warm, wrapped up like a little burrito on the couch and watching movies with my boys. It is no nice and relaxing. I like bringing in warmer colors and more textures- things that remind me of the fall. I like decorating with natural elements like pine cones and acorns. What do you do to decorate for the fall? I am thinking a new, handmade wreath for the front door too!

French Rose Pillow in Orchid

This lovely pillow is done in one of my new favorite colors! Orchid! How soft and pretty she is, huh!? I think a bunch of these, in different colors, thrown on a bed would look fabulous!

Looking for Advice!!!!!

Hello! So I just wanted to give you some random shots of my living room and the furniture that is in it. I really want to repaint the room and I am having indecisiveness (is that a word?) on choosing a color! The couch is an oatmeal linen, the chairs are light brown and white, the TV console is a tealish robins egg blue (I should have gotten a picture of that) and the other chair in there is that aquaish striped one in one of the below posts. Does anyone have any suggestions on a color? I was leaning towards a soft chocolate brown....then just an ivory...and then to a...well...I don't know! :( If anyone is reading this, please give me your opinion! Oh, and ignore the messy living room! Sorry, I did not clean for you all! Shame on me!

LOVE Big White Round Mirrors!

These are pictures of 2 white mirrors I have in my house. And also a tall (almost 4 feet tall!) wooden one that I scored at a garage sale the other weekend, for 5.00, that I am going to paint white or cream. I might be ambitious and try to get it done today, but things are not looking good for that! I have way too many other things on my to-do list today that NEED to get done! My hubby and little guy are out in the woods today on our other property, so I have a couple hours to myslef! Yippee! Anyways, the oval mirror I got at a yard sale for 7.00 and painted white, and the giant scrolly one I got at the Farmers Market last year. It is BIG and HEAVY and OLD! I believe I paid 15.00 for it- I painted it white(it was an ugly gold color) and distressed it. It hangs above my loveseat in the family room. It is about 4 feets wide by 3 feet tall!

Yesterday we went to a Octagon Barn Festival, and let me tell you- it was INSANE! I could not believe the amount of people there! We parked like a mile away from the festival and they had wagons hooked up to tractors, hauling people to the festival and back and forth to their cars. It was nuts! Inside it was your typical fall days like event, with yummy donuts cooked in front of you- fresh apple cider, squeezed before your eyes, homemade ice cream, pop corn popped in this HUGE kettle, fresh to the bags! It was really neat! Of course, we sampled all of them! I do doubt that a tiny one scoop of ice cream cost 3.00 back in the "oldin' days" though! There was also a big old farmhouse on the property there that they were giving tours through! I wish I had brought my camera- it was still furnished throughout with all th old rugs, furniture, light fixtures, claw foot tubs..you name it! So cool! Anyways, it was a good time!

Enjoy my pics, I threw in one of a big shelf I got for a couple dollars at the farmers market and painted a glossy black. It turned out so neat, I think! I will post the big wood mirror when I get it done!

Crazy Cat

This picture is of my little guy with our snoozing cat Min Mins. He likes to sleep in super weird positions, as you can see! I moved this wicker dog bed from out upstairs room and it got pushed under this bench. I feel bad moving it b/c the cats love it! It is missing its pillow, but they don't seem to mind much! :)

The Oar

So this is where I put the oar....even though it probably won't stay there. I can't really decide where I want to put it, so this is good enough for now!

It's the Thought That Counts...right!?

I had to share this story. My little boy, 7, went outside today and saw that the neighbors down the street were having a garage sale. He asked for some money to go and see what they had. I gave him a couple quarters and sent him on his way. A few minutes later, he returned, happy as a lark to present to me his "gift". That is what you see in the picture. Isn't it lovely!? He was so excited that he bought ME something and so proud to show it to me! As my heart welled up with pride, it also cringed. "Is he going to want me to hang this in the living room?", I wondered, as I ceerfully smiled and gave him a hug. "Aww...how sweet of you honey!", I wholeheartely said, when in fact, I was thinking..."At least it has a solid wood frame I could paint...and an unbroken piece of glass." He hasn't talked about it much , except for reassuring himself by asking "But you do love cats Mom, right" like a million times. He wanted to make sure he did good. He did do good. He thought of someone beside himself, which is hard for a little boy to do. Even if I do not care for the gift, I keep telling him that I "just LOVE it!". It is worth it to see him smile , even if I have to hang it for a few days! :)

Some New Ones Again

MINI BAGS OF HOME- in Blue. I think they have a nautical feel to them, especially next to the oar!
I think this pillow is so romantic looking! I can picture them piled on a sofa, or even on a bed! Made from cream and white linen.

Cute little bean bag bookends. Great for a childs room to hold up some books!

Another french rose pillow in grey and pink. These pillows can come in pretty much any color- just check out my shop! www.dedeetsyshop.etsy.com
